At the Bislett Games in Oslo, 400 m hurdler Karsten Warholm caused a sensation. The Norwegian ran the stadium lap, which was peppered with ten obstacles, in 46.70 seconds faster than any other person ever before and thus broke Kevin Young's 29-year-old world record.
Karsten Warholm is not only one of the big names in world athletics this year. He is also the face on posters pointing out the season highlight to the residents of Zurich. Anyone traveling through Zurich by tram in recent days will repeatedly encounter Warholm on advertising material for Weltklasse Zürich and learn: Tickets for the athletics festival are available as of 6 July. More information on tickets can be found here.
The top-class meeting in Oslo was the fourth stop of the Wanda Diamond League, in which the world's best athletes collect qualification points in order to get into the grand final on 8-9 September at Weltklasse Zürich.
