Once again, Weltklasse Zürich boasted the best line-ups this year and thus tops the World Athletics ranking of one-day meetings. Once again, the stars were inspired by the cheers of the world’s finest athletics audience at a sold-out Letzigrund Stadium. Once again, we added an exciting next chapter to the story of our meeting.
On Thursday, 31 August 2023 – just four days after the athletics world championships in Budapest end –, Weltklasse Zürich will stage a great post-championship showdown. Stadium tickets will go on sale to the public on 16 May. Weltklasse Zürich Friends, however, can secure tickets for themselves, their family and friends as of 9 May already.
By the way: Vouchers and hospitality packages for Weltklasse Zürich 2023 are available or bookable before Christmas.
Sports Awards 2022: Mujinga Kambundji and Simon Ehammer nominated
The two brought great joy to Switzerland’s sports fans, during Weltklasse Zürich and elsewhere: Mujinga Kambundji, 60m world indoor champion, 200m European champion, and European championship silver medallist in the 100m, and Simon Ehammer, world indoor championship silver medallist in the heptathlon, world championship bronze medallist in the long jump and European championship silver medallist in the decathlon. Their international success rightly earned both Swiss athletics stars a nomination for a national Sports Award. They deserve our votes on Sunday, 11 December (SRF 1 live coverage, starting 20:05), and so does Audrey Werro, 800m world U20 championship silver medallist, who is nominated as “SRF 3 Best Talent Sport”, an award that will be announced in the run-up to the national award ceremony.
