Five of the ten best female pole vaulters have signed up for Weltklasse Zürich am Hauptbahnhof - what means main station. Olympic Champion Katerina Stefanidi, World Indoor Champion Sandi Morris, European Indoor Champion Anzhelika Sidorova, former World Champion Yarisley Silva and Olympic bronze medallist Eliza McCartney - they will lift off at the station hall on 28 August.
With Swiss record holder Nicole Büchler and European U23 champion Angelica Moser, two local heroes are taking off as well. With Holly Bradshaw the 2016 winner returns. Robeilys Peinado comes to Zurich as third at the World Championships. Katie Nageotte wants more after her third place in 2017. They all belong to the pole vault world class and guarantee exceptional performances.
Free standing room
On the eve before Weltklasse Zürich, the Zurich population will once again feel the spirit of athletics. Since 2015, Weltklasse Zürich has been flying high out of the legendary Letzigrund Stadium at Zurich main station. Sports fans and passers-by will gather at the specially erected arena and discover athletics from a completely new perspective. In addition to the already sold out seat grandstand, the railway hall offers free standing room for thousands of spectators. The warm-up of the top athletes can be seen from 5 p.m., the competition starts at 6.30 p.m..
