Athletes can win 100 000 US dollars in prize money in each 16 final event. Winners will be awarded 50 000 US dollars.
As in the past, Weltklasse Zürich and the Memorial van Damme meeting in Brussels will stage 16 final events each. The final events at Weltklasse Zürich 2017 will be:
Men
100m, 400m, 1500m, 5000m, 400m hurdles, high jump, pole vault, long jump, javelin throw
Women
200m, 800m, 3000m steeplechase, 100m hurdles, triple jump, shot put, javelin throw.
Additional events
The IAAF Diamond League rules allow for additional events in the programme of events. At Letzigrund Stadium, there will still be the traditional Zürich Trophy, a 4x100m women’s relay race. And there will also be a fascinating women’s pole vault competition featuring the world’s best athletes at Weltklasse Zürich at Zurich Main Station on the eve of the meeting.
