Weltklasse Zürich returns to Zurich Main Station after two years. Once again, the promoters of the world’s most renowned athletics meeting will set up a temporary arena in the station’s great hall. Between 2010 and 2013, this extraordinary stage belonged to the world’s best shot putters. This year, it will be the pole vault stars’ turn to compete in the heart of the city.
„Passers-by and visitors will get to see them perform up close and to experience the multifaceted athletics discipline from a very unique perspective,“ explained Weltklasse Zürich Co-Director Christoph Joho. Eight to ten of the top vaulters will be in the line-up and will attempt to clear the bar at up to 6m.
The show on Wednesday, 2 September (starting at 6pm) will be the official Weltklasse Zürich pole vault competition and will represent the highlight of the meeting’s two-day event at Zurich Main Station. An exhibition area with numerous sponsor activities will be open to visitors as of Tuesday, 1 September.
Tickets now on sale, live stream on SRF
The temporary arena offers seats on a visitor stand. Tickets cost CHF 25 and are now available at www.weltklassezuerich.ch. Admission to the standing area is free.
For the first time, fans will be able to follow the action live on the website of SRF, the Swiss national television network.
