Weltklasse Zürich at Zurich Main Station: Tickets for the famous street athletics event sold out as well
All seats of the temporary arena at Zurich Main Station have sold a while ago. However, visitors and passersby have the opportunity to enjoy the iconic Weltklasse Zürich street athletics show and watch the competition featuring the top seven finalists of the recent world championships in London from a standing area (free admission, no ticket required).
Last-minute tickets on sale on Tuesday
Fans still looking for stadium tickets still have a small chance to secure a seat at Letzigrund Stadium: On Tuesday, 22 August, 9am, there will be a last-minute ticket sale on www.weltklassezuerich.ch. These tickets will become available for sale as a result of last-minute ticket contingency changes.
Wayde van Niekerk withdraws
400m world record holder and world champion Wayde van Niekerk will unfortunately have to forego his appearance at Letzigrund Stadium: This morning, the 25-year-old South African star had to cancel the race in Zurich. A back injury has flared up again during training after the world championships. “I am bitterly disappointed I won’t be competing in the last Diamond League event of the season, as I haven’t won a Diamond League Final before and was hoping to get my hands on one of the fiercely contested Diamond trophies,” explained Wayde van Niekerk.
